Well, baby girl, since my last post a lot has happened. We sold the house and are set to move in 11 days! It's strange and a little bit sad to think that you won't remember this house and never see in person the room that I painted for you here. I'm sad but we're moving because we want something more comfortable for our family. I hope you love our new house.
In the month since I've last written, some things have stayed the same and some have changed quite a bit. You're still not fully sleeping through the night. There are nights when you sleep through the night (until 5am). But, most nights you wake up around midnight. I don't want you to wake up Daddy and Brett so I usually go get you. I know that I should just let you cry and not get you because you're not crying because you're hungry but it's hard to do. Last night you woke up at 1am, then Brett woke up at 3am, then you woke up at 5am. I didn't get very much sleep last night.
You're finally over 12 pounds. When I weighed you a week ago you were 13 pounds, 7 ounces. Eating solid foods has helped your growing quite a bit. You eat rice or oatmeal cereal at every meal along with either a fruit or a vegetable. You do quite well eating and only push up your nose at it if it's cold. I plan to introduce stage 2 foods to you shortly.
You scoot around the floor just a bit. Normally you roll over and over all over. It's very cute. I have to be careful when I put you down because you'll roll from one side of the room to the other very quickly. You love your toys and your exersaucer and jumperoo.
Within the past couple of days you've done a few things for the first time. The other day you reached for me when daddy was holding you. Then, a day later, you reached for daddy when someone else was holding you. This was so cute. It's really the first time you've been aware of who has you and who doesn't! You've also started growling. It's very cute. You've found a new voice and are exercising it. I can remember that Brett found this same voice and used it quite a bit too.
Since it's summer you've been able to fall into a nice schedule of sleeping, eating and playing:
5am - Nurse
7am - Wake up & nurse
7:30am to 8:30am - Play
8:30am - Breakfast (cereal & fruit)
9:00am - Nap
10:30am - Wake up & nurse
11:00am to 12:00pm - Play
12:00pm - Lunch (cereal & fruit or veggie)
12:30pm - Nap
2:30pm - Wake up & nurse
3:00pm to 4:30pm - Play
4:30pm - Nap
5:30pm - Wake up & dinner (cereal & veggie)
6:00pm to 8:00pm - Play
8:00pm - Nurse
8:30pm - Bedtime
Pretty routine day. I try to run errands during your awake time. Needless to say some days I don't get too. It'll be interesting to see how this schedule changes when Brett goes back to school. We'll be taking him to school during your morning nap. Hopefully it won't mess it up too much!
As normal you're sleeping right now. I just took a shower and decided to write something for your blog. Brett is watching Sesame Street. You'll wake up shortly and then we're going to run some errands!
Claire, I love you so much. I never could have imagined how wonderful it is to have a baby girl. You're so precious and sweet. I hope that we will always be close and that you'll always know how much I truly love and care for you. You are my sweet, wonderful child. I love you Clarabelle!
